The latest Malayalam movie, "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" (JSR) or "Jacob's Kingdom of Heaven," has been keeping the cash registers ringing ever since it was released on April 8. The Nivin Pauly-starrer has been performing well at the Indian box office as well as the overseas market.
"JSR" has earned a gross amount of $14,956 from 12 screens during its third weekend at the United States box office. The total earning of the film has reached $91,258 (Rs. 60.72 lakh) within three weeks at the overseas market, according to Bollywood Hungama. The collection has seen a slight drop as compared to the previous weekend, when "JSR" made $23,534 from 17 screens in the U.S.
The family entertainer based on the life of an NRI family settled in Dubai opened to a superb response from viewers in the U.A.E after it was released on May 4. The movie, starring Renji Panicker, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, Sreenath Bhasi, Aima Sebastian, Stacen, Dinesh Prabhakar, Sai Kumar and Ashwin Kumar in significant roles, has been tagged as one of the best family entertainers of recent times.
The movie is the third association of Nivin and Vineeth after the hit movies "Malarvadi Arts Club" and "Thattathin Marayathu." With the back-to-back blockbusters the two have come out with, it seems like the actor-director duo has become the next Mohanlal-Sreenivasan or Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team of the Malayalam entertainment industry, with their movies performing well at the worldwide box offices.
