It was a special day for cricketer Zaheer Khan as he got engaged to his girlfriend and actor Sagarika Ghatge, but several celebrities on Twitter wished Sagarika Ghose instead of the actress.

Late on Monday, the Delhi Daredevils captain and the actor posted photos on Twitter announcing their engagement. "Never laugh at your wife's choices. You are one of them !!! Partners for life. #engaged @sagarikavghatge," Zaheer captioned the image.

Ghatge also posted a photo on Twitter with a caption, "Partners for life !!! #engaged @ImZaheer."

Soon after their announcement, wishes poured in on social media wishing the couple. However, instead of tagging Sagarika Ghatge several people, including Anil Kumble, tagged journalist Sagarika Ghose. The official Twitter handle of the Delhi Daredevils team also tagged the journalist instead of the actor.

However, the tweets with the wrong tag were later deleted and Delhi Daredevils' Twitter account posted another tweet apologising for the blunder. "We were so elated by the news that we got carried away. Apologies for the miscommunication. We wish the fine couple a great life ahead," the tweet from the account reads.

Zaheer and Ghatge, known for her role of Preeti Sabarwal in Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De India, met one and a half years ago through common friend and actor Angad Bedi. But the dating news came out only when the couple attended Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech's wedding.

Meanwhile, Zaheer is the latest cricketer who has joined the list of cricketers in a relationship with a Bollywood star. The list includes Yuvraj-Hazel, Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, Harbhajan Singh-Geeta Basra, Sharmila Tagore-Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Sangeeta Bijlani-Mohammad Azharuddin, Mohsin Khan-Reena Roy, Viv Richards-Neena Gupta and Gary Sobers-Anju Mahendru.
