Xiaomi is soon going to launch an entirely new series to take on premium smartphone brands such as OnePlus. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is the next flagship smartphone in the company's premium lineup, which already consists Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi MIX 2S and Black Shark.

There have been rumours about the Pocophone brand for a while now and recent reports have outlined the key specifications of the first smartphone under this new series, Pocophone F1. Falling in line with what we already know about the phone, Bluetooth SIG Certification for the Pocophone F1 sheds light on more information.

It has already been established that the Pocophone F1 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and the new listing confirms it will have a liquid cooling system that will enable "extremely fast processing power at a sustained peak performance."

Describing the Pocophone F1, Bluetooth SIG listing also reveals the camera specifications of the unannounced smartphone. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is said to come with dual cameras at the back, combining 12MP and 5MP sensors with 1.4µm large pixels and dual pixel autofocus on the main sensor.

If you're fond of selfies, Pocophone F1 won't disappoint. The listing confirms the handset will feature a 20MP front-facing camera with Super Pixel technology, which combines four pixels into one large pixel to reduce noise in photos while capturing more light and details even in low light conditions.

Finally, the listing says the Pocophone F1 will have an advanced AI-powered facial unlocking feature using infrared illuminator and an IR camera. This will allow unlocking the device via facial recognition even in the absence of light.

Other features that will make the Pocophone F1 a complete flagship, include MIUI 10 software, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage options, notched display, a fingerprint scanner, optical zoom support in rear camera and a 4,000mAh battery.

An earlier report had suggested the Pocophone F1 be the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone. If the MySmartPrice estimation is right, the base model will retail at €420, roughly Rs 33,600, while the high-end model will cost €460, about Rs 36,800.

It is quite clear that at this price point Xiaomi is competing against the likes of OnePlus 6, Asus Zenfone 5Z, Huawei Nova 3 and others. OnePlus 6 has been quite popular among shoppers and it was the best-selling smartphone in the premium category in India during Q2 2018. OnePlus also emerged as the No. 1 premium smartphone brand in the said quarter.

Can Xiaomi's Pocophone series steal the limelight from OnePlus? Only time will tell.
