Facebook-owned WhatsApp will soon bring a new security feature which will include biometric authentication. The world's largest messaging platform has submitted 2.19.3 update with Google Play Beta Program, according to a report by wabetainfo.com.

WhatsApp has reportedly brought this feature after trying to implement facial recognition ID which did not work with Android phones due to developmental problems.

The app's latest authentication feature will soon be available for users with Android Marshmallow or newer updates, and later, iOS users too.

After updating WhatsApp, the users can implement fingerprint authentication by going to Settings > Account > Privacy and they can enable fingerprint authentication, similar to enabling or disabling read receipts.

Along with fingerprint authentication, WhatsApp also plans to improve the audio pick feature which will allow users to send audio messages after listening to it and also send multiple audio files at once.
