Vijay's multilingual film "Puli" and Akshay Kumar's Bollywood movie "Singh Is Bling", which are slated to hit screens on 2 October, have forced the makers of "Kanche" to delay its release.

The makers, who were thrilled over the huge response to the film's promos, had announced that "Kanche" will be released on 2 October. But now they reportedly feel that the movie may not do well, as it would clash with big ticket movies such as "Puli" and "Singh is Bling". So they have postponed the movie's release date to 6 November, 10 days after Dussehra.

While "Singh is Bling" is a Hindi movie, "Puli" will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Both the movies will be released on a massive scale and this may not allow "Kanche" to be released in sufficient number of theatres. Also, the two films feature superstars Akshay Kumar and Vijay, respectively, whose star power would have taken a toll on the box office collection of "Kanche".

The producers reportedly wanted to delay the release of "Kanche" by just one week, but they faced more threats in the form of "Rudramadevi" (9 October), "Bruce Lee" (16 October), "Akhil" (22 October) and "Sher" (30 October). So they were forced to postpone its release by more than a month.

"The distributors and exhibitors are all confused. So, we took a decision which could give us a breather. It's sad that we are postponing the film but are very sure that we are doing the right thing for us, and for all the other films that are releasing in October," director Krish told Deccan Chronicle, when asked about the delay.

Written by Sai Madhav Burra, "Kanche" is a Telugu war drama film, which is set in the backdrop of World War II. The movie is a love story of a soldier, who fought against Germany. Varun Tej is playing the soldier, while actress Pragya Jaiswal, who is making her debut in Tollywood, appears as his love interest in the movie.

Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi aka Krish, who has earlier directed the 2012 movie "Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum", is making his comeback with "Kanche". Saibabu Jagarlamudi and Y Rajeev Reddy have produced the film under the banner First Frame Entertainment. Chirantan Bhatt has composed the music for the film, while Gnanasekhar VS has handled the cinematography.

The audio of "Kanche" was launched at a grand function held in Hyderabad on 17 September, 2015 and its music has impressed movie buffs. Its theatrical trailer, which was released on the Internet on 31 August, created lot of curiosity among film goers, who are eagerly waiting for the movie's release.
