The producers of Vijaya's Jana Nayagan have postponed its release due to delay in its censorship. They said that they would announce the new release date soon.
Jana Nayagan was planned to release in cinema halls across the globe on January 9. The makers had sent its final copy to the censor board well in advance. But the Board delayed the certificate to the film due to some controversial political dialogue. The makers approached the Madras High Court seeking direction to the Board to issue the certificate.
After not getting the certificate, the producers decided to postpone the release of Jana Nayagan. In a statement to media, they said, "It is with a heavy heart that we share this update with our valued stakeholders and audiences. The release of Jana Nayagan, eagerly awaited on January 9, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control."
Jana Nayagan happens to the last movie of Vijay as he enters politics post its release. There is excitement over the movie. The statement further read, "We deeply understand the anticipation, excitement, and emotions surrounding this film, and this decision has not been an easy one for any of us. The new release date will be announced at the earliest."
The producers requested Vijay's fans to wait patiently for the new release date of Jana Nayagan. The note concluded, "Until then, we humbly request your patience and continued love. Your unwavering support is our greatest strength and means everything to the entire Jana Nayagan team."
Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller, which has been written and directed by H Vinoth. Vijay and Pooja Hegde are playing the lead role, while Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju appear in the suporting cast.
