Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan is set to be a Pongal release on January 9. But the delay in its censorship is giving sleepless nights its makers, who have knocked the doors of Madras High court.

Jana Nayagan has been in the production for over year now. Ever since it went on floors, the movie has been making it to the headlines for one other reason. With the movie slated to hit the screens this Friday, Vijay's fans are excited to see him dazzle the screens across the globe.

The makers of Jana Nayagan, who announced January 9 as its release date long ago, recently completed its production and sent to the Censor Board for its certification. But the Board is not happy with some of the political dialogues, which have delayed the censorship process.

The producers are reportedly upset with the delay in its censorship. Just three days ahead of its release, the delay is hampering the process of the opening of advance ticket booking. As a result, the makers have reportedly filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking directions for the issuance of the censor certificate.

Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller film, which is loosely inspired by the Nandamuri Balakrishna's 2023 Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. It is intended to be the final film appearance of Vijay before his entry into politics, which has created more curiosity about the movie.
