More than 80 students feared dead in Pak, security experts condemn attack in school

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): More than 80 students have been killed and many more wounded in a terror attack by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Pakistan's Army Public School in Peshawar. According to reports, police said that at least six terrorists stormed inside the school after scaling its walls. Meanwhile, security experts in India have condemned the incident.

Social Activists await laws to ensure women safety two years post Delhi gang rape case

Lucknow/ Chennai, Dec 16 (ANI): India on Tuesday observed the second anniversary of brutal gang rape of 23-year-old trainee physiotherapist in a moving bus in New Delhi, a case that led to nationwide protests and forced authorities to tighten laws on sex crimes. Social Activist Sudha Ramalingam said all the steps taken so far have failed to make women feel safer. Faced with criticism over apathy and insensitivity to crimes against women, Delhi's 80,000-strong police force has also attempted a revamp of sorts. Meanwhile, Social Worker Aparna Yadav urged the politicians to aware the masses, especially women, of the Criminal Laws Amendment Act. Social Activist Shaina NC also said that befitting tribute to the victim is still waiting. It would be complete when we use technology available to us.

Japan introduces its pop music and food to the world

Japan, Dec 16 (ANI): Horipro, the Japanese talent production company, is now eyeing ASEAN and India. Recently, its famous actor and artist gathered in Singapore for the Anime Festival Asia 2014, and annual event with participation of some 90,000 people. The event was held jointly by Singapore cooperation SOZO and Horipro. Horipro executes not only talent business but also plural business including talent goods sales and production of its own content. It was displayed at an exhibition. Actor of Japanese comic, Death Note, Hayato Kakizawa also participated at the event marked by musical performances and caught the attention of fans. Some fans also interacted with Kakizawa. They were attracted by his performance and attitude.

GoI condemns attack on innocent children in Peshawar, no definition for terrorism: MEA

Reactions come in as TMC demands withdrawal of PM's control over CBI

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): Reactions come in after Trinamool Congress demanded in Lok Sabha that the CBI's control be withdrawn from the Prime Minister and handed over to the Lokpal. BJP Spokesperson Nalin Kohli said that TMC should rather demand that justice be done to those who lost their money in the scam. NCP leader Majid Memon said that CBI should try and clean its image of a 'caged parrot'. CPI leader Atul Anjan said that the TMC should remember that they never questioned the CBI during the UPA government. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi said that the CBI works as a rubber stamp and the allegations itself was made by the BJP earlier.

Politicos react as Adityanath says Akhilesh govt should bring anti-conversion law

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): Politicos react as BJP MP Yogi Adityanath said that UP government should come up with an anti-conversion law if it disapproves of the forthcoming "ghar wapsi" event in Aligarh. Defending the planned December 25 programme, Adityanath sought to differentiate it from conversions. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that it’s a shame for the country that issues like religious conversions are the topics of debate in today's India. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi said that religion should be a subject to an individual and no force should be put on any person over the same. Cold wave intensifies in northern, central India

Kanpur/ New Delhi/ Bhopal, Dec 16 (ANI): Cold wave conditions and foggy weather disrupted normal life in central and northern India on Tuesday. After New Delhi and Kanpur witnessed light rain showers, the temperature went down, adding to the woes of daily wage labourers and homeless people as they have no alternative to fight the chill. A resident of Kanpur, Kishan, said due to rains the cold has become unbearable. People of New Delhi also had a tough time dealing with the cold as mercury dipped to 10 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Himachal Pradesh also plummeted as some regions of the state received snowfall. Meanwhile, people in Bhopal also woke up to chilly, foggy morning and faced problems in travelling due to poor visibility.
