At least 10 boys' heads tonsured as punishment at school's hostel in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 02 (ANI): In another case of alleged corporal punishment in a school of Bengaluru, at least 10 boys' heads were tonsured by hostel authorities. Two boys, brothers studying in a reputed school of Bengaluru, have alleged that their heads were shaved by staff of the school hostel as punishment for not attending classes. A complaint has been filed and investigation is underway. When contacted, the school's rector said the heads of five boys were shaved with their consent for hygienic reason.

New Delhi/ Kaushambi, Feb 02 (ANI): AAP slammed BJP's chief ministerial candidate for Delhi, Kiran Bedi after her poll campaign in-charge Narendra Tandon resigned on Monday. AAP said that if the party leaders cannot handle Bedi for a few days, there is no way that the national capital can tolerate her governance. Meanwhile, BJP Spokesperson Harish Khurana refuted claims and said that Tandon has this habit of resigning on every issue and that there is nothing t o worry over the same. He said that Tandon has been part of the campaign committee which is headed by Anil Jain and that he was given the additional responsibility of managing Bedi's campaign soon after her induction into the party.

Politicos react as BJP is likely to release its vision document for Delhi polls today

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday react as BJP is likely to release its vision document for assembly elections in Delhi. The vision document is being released instead of a poll manifesto by the party for the upcoming polls. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that Delhi being the national capital needs involvement from the centre for its development and that the vision document will take the city to new levels. However, AAP called it an excuse by the BJP for not working for the people of Delhi. The party also said that BJP's improper advertisements already show the party's vision.

AAP, Congress slam BJP's new ad attacking Kejriwal over caste even as BJP calls it AAP's 'poll strat

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): AAP and Congress on Monday slammed BJP's new advertisement wherein the party took potshots at Kejriwal's dharna just before the Republic Day in 2014, and his demanding an invitation for the Republic Day parade this year. In the small text below the cartoon, the BJP called Kejriwal of upadravi gotra (anarchist gotra). AAP said that BJP should apologise for the act and withdraw the ad failing which the party will move the EC. Blast rocks Assam leaving three injured

Hailakandi, Feb 02 (ANI): At least three persons were injured in a powerful explosion in Hailakandi district of Assam. The bomb, which exploded near a police station, was planted in a shop in the busy market of the town. Police has launched an investigation in the incident. The southern part of Hailakandi district bordering Mizoram is affected by Bru (Reang) militants. Assam is one of the seven states that make up India's restive remote northeast.

Speeding bus mows down three people in Andhra Pradesh

East Godavari, Feb 02 (ANI): An over speeding bus mowed down at least three people in Andhra Pradesh. The accident occurred when the bus broke traffic signal and hit people in East Godavari. The driver immediately fled the spot. The four injured persons have been admitted to a local hospital. Police has registered the case and investigation is underway to nab the culprits.

Goa police arrest Italian national, recover drug worth millions

Panaji, Feb 02 (ANI): Anti-narcotics cell of police in Goa arrested a 54-year-old Italian national and recovered drug worth one hundred million from him. Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted in Anjuna beach area during which accused Vincenzo Rainone was caught red-handed. Later his house was searched where police found 30,000 LSD papers (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) and liquid LSD. This is one of the major seizures of LSD papers by the Goa police. The accused had been visiting Goa on business and tourist visas since last 14 years. Rainone will be produced before court for police remand.

Kejriwal hurt over BJP's advertisement targeting 'Aggarwal community', says will complain to EC

Kaushambi, Feb 02 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday reacted over yet another BJPs advertisement and said that he will complain to the Election Commission over the same. Kejriwal said that the BJP should say things to him and not others. He said that the party should apologise from the entire Aggarwal community for mocking them. He also said that the people of Delhi will give them a befitting reply on the day of voting. Earlier, Kejriwal took a jibe at BJP chief ministerial nominee Kiran Bedi as he thanked her for sparing his children in BJP's campaign advertisement.
