At least three injured after a bridge collapses in Delhi's Pitampura

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Atleast three people were injured after a bridge collapsed in Delhi's Pitampura area on Thursday. According to reports, two cars were trapped under the debris. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. Reportedly, the incident took place at Madhuban Chauk at 10 am when a pillar of an under construction bridge collapsed and fell on the cars, an Alto and an Ikon. Police is investigating the matter. Inauguration of Modi temple cancelled after PM expresses displeasure

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): The inauguration ceremony of the temple made to worship Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajkot's Kothadia village has been cancelled after his disapproving tweet on the same. According to reports, the initiator has decided to remove the idol and photograph from the site and build a "Bharat Mata" temple in its place. Modi earlier in the day had tweeted, "Have seen the news about a temple being built in my name. I was appalled. This is shocking and against India's great traditions. Building such Temples is not what our culture teaches us. Personally, it made me very sad. Would urge those doing it not to do it." Lew is in India to attend the fifth U.S.-India Economic and Financial Partnership Dialogue in New Delhi. He recently met Indian business leaders in financial hub Mumbai at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and US-India Business Council Roundtable ahead of the dialogue in Delhi that will focus on capital market reforms and economic policies between the two countries. Imphal, Feb 12 (ANI): Four people sustained injuries in a grenade explosion in Imphal city Manipur. All the four wounded persons were rushed to a local government hospital. Condition of one of the injured persons, identified as Laishram Pilot (24), was said to be serious. After the explosion, paramilitary and state police team investigated the area. Shimla, Feb 12 (ANI): For effective and advanced policing system, a Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) was launched in Himachal Pradesh. The pilot project would not only help in data sharing with other states and countries, it would offer people-friendly services also like registering a complaint. Authorities step up measures to combat swine flu in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Feb 12 (ANI): Authorities in Gujarat stepped up measures to combat the fatal H1N1 virus as swine flu cases rose across the state. In Ahmedabad, arrangements for separate wards, beds, adequate medical supplies, including Tamiflu medicines, have been made in hospitals. People are being educated on preventive measures and have been instructed to wear masks, wash their hands frequently, besides sanitizing the environment. Superintendent of a government hospital, M Prabhakar said that 84 new swine flu cases were reported and 240 cases had been treated till now. The virus has killed 191 people in the country in January alone, with southern Telangana being the worst hit state. So far, 2,038 people have been afflicted by the virus in India. Feb 12, 2015
