Naxals 'brainwashing' innocent farmers and spreading misinformation

Patna, Oct 31 (ANI): While the strength of Naxals has gone down considerably in recent times, they have intensified their campaign and are spreading misinformation against the government and security forces. Anand Shankar, former DGP of Bihar, believes that the Naxals brainwash innocent farmers and force them to join their ranks. Shankar added that teenagers are forcibly recruited by them and villagers are terrified about raising their voice against them. Shankar also said that there is an urgent need to formulate a well-planned strategy which makes use of latest technology to fight the Naxals. Naxalism has plagued the country for many decades. Naxals have consistently killed innocent people and security personnel. The Indian government has described Naxalism as the biggest internal security threat to the nation. Oct 31, 2013
