BJP candidate Poonam Mahajan files nomination

Mumbai, April 03 (ANI): A young BJP candidate, Poonam Mahajan before filing her nomination papers sought God’s blessings as she got ready to make her debut in ‘politics of dynasty’. Mahajan on Thursday visited different places of worship including temples, mosques, memorial of late politicians to pay her obeisance. Mahajan, daughter of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who will be contesting as BJP candidate from Mumbai, vowed to give a tough fight to other candidates. Slamming Congress for underdevelopment, Mahajan said that she was hopeful of winning the elections.

EC says will take cognizance on receiving complaint over Sonia- Imam meet, Congress condemns

New Delhi/ Jammu, April 03 (ANI): After Congress President Sonia Gandhi met Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari of Jama Masjid to convince him that the “secular vote” must not split, Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath said that the EC will take cognizance on receiving complaint on the issue. Reacting on this, Congress leader Anand Sharma said that there is no violation of model code of conduct and that EC should better take action against Narendra Modi who is trying to create communal differences.

New Delhi, April 3 (ANI): The Congress on Thursday said that the disagreement between Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari and his younger brother, Syed Yahya Bukhari is their personal matter and the decision to support Congress is up to them. Textiles Minister KS Rao resigns over bifurcation of AP
