EC bans victory processions in UP, Congress welcomes

New Delhi/ Lucknow, May 15 (ANI): Election Commission on Thursday banned victory processions after the announcement of poll results in UP. Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Umesh Sinha said that the poll panel also tightened security across the state in order to prevent any violence on Friday. High alert has been sounded in 20 districts, including those in the western parts of the State that have been identified as "sensitive" following intelligence reports of threat to law and order. AIADMK expels K Malaisamy for suggesting alliance with NDA, TRS too follows suit

New Delhi/ Hyderabad, May 15 (ANI): AIADMK Chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday expelled former MP K Malaisamy from the party for suggesting that she would support Narendra Modi led NDA government. His expulsion came a day after his remark on the possibility of ties between BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi and Jayalalithaa after the announcement of election results on May 16. Jayalalithaa said that Malaisamy was expelled because he had acted in violation of party's principles and ideologies. And that he has brought disrepute and bad name to the party.
