Police arrest hardcore Maoist in red corridor of Jharkhand

Gumla, Nov 03 (ANI): The state police along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has arrested a hardcore Maoist and recovered cash along with arms and ammunition in Jharkhand's Gumla district. The Gumla police had received information and immediately sent a team to hunt the dreaded Maoist. The Maoist has been identified as Sushil Ganju and Rs 18,000 were found in his pocket. Superintendent of Police (SP), Bhimsen Tuti, said that this operation was a big success for them as he had carried out many violent Maoist activities in the area. He further said that some sensitive documents and diaries having information about their organization and their activities, is also recovered. Till now fifteen First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against Ganju.

Delhi Elections: Reports of BJP wanting elections, LG calls all party meet

New Delhi, Nov 3 (ANI): In the latest development in events regarding government formation in Delhi the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has called for an all party meet to decide the further course of action. Following this, reportedly the BJP has also asked the LG that it is ready to go for polls in the capital city. BJP leader Parvesh Verma said that the party will tell its stand after the meeting with LG. BJP leader RP Singh said that BJP is ready for polls. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that the party is preparing for polls but no final decision has been taken yet. Meanwhile, opposition parties condemned BJP for playing politics over polls. Congress leaders JP Aggarwal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that BJP is playing hide and seek with the people of Delhi. AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that BJP should express its stand formally before the people.

IPL scam: Mukul Mudgal committee submits final report to SC with less expectation

New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): The Mukul Mudgal committee probing the betting and spot fixing scandals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) submitted its final report on Monday. The committee submitted its report on role of N Srinivasan and others in the scam, in a sealed cover. The hearing on the case is scheduled for next Monday. Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal said that the report has been submitted but refrained from giving any details whatsoever. The report, however, had less expectation as lawyer Rahul Mehra said that going by the past record, nothing much can be expected from the same. He also said that is the case goes in favour of Srinivasan, it will be a setback for Indian cricket as well as worldwide.

Wagah border attack a serious internal security challenge, could have been on Indian side too: Secur

New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): Security Expert Uday Bhaskar on Monday termed the suicide attack at Pakistan side of Wagah border as a serious internal security challenge for India. He said the fact that assailants can reach at such sensitive area says that proper vigil and increase in arrangements for security is required on both sides. He also pointed out at the possibility of India too being on the radar of such attacks. Bhaskar said that India would have to acquire the capacity for surveillance on both side of the border after the incident. At least 55 people lost their lives and several were left injured when an explosion took place on Pakistan side of Wagah border just after a daily ceremony when troops from both sides simultaneously lower the two nations' flags.

Azad Kashmir observes 'black day'

Muzaffarabad/ Geneva, Nov 03: October 22, 1947 - the day when Pakistani Pashtun tribes invaded the Kashmir Valley and created mayhem, is remembered as "Black Day". Kashmiris across the world use the day to protest the invasion of their homeland by Pakistan. In Muzzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, a large number of nationalists gathered to raise their voices against illegal occupation by recalling the brutality of Pakistani troops. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan were a part of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, which was captured by the Pakistani Army disguised as tribesmen. At the Kishan-Ganga Bridge in Kotli, Kashmiri protesters lit candles as a tribute to those killed during the tribal invasion of 1947. They shouted slogans against Pakistan for illegally occupying their territory. Pakistan claims to champion the cause of Kashmiris, but ignores their plight in so-called Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
