No matter what you do, there's no miracle that can save Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindustan (Thugs Of Hindostan) which came crumbling down at the box office following bad reviews from both critics and audience. The screening of director Vijay Krishna Acharya's directorial has now been revoked from around 1500-1600 screens because of the poor occupancy in cinema halls across the country. The movie was initially released across 5000 screens in India and 2000 screens overseas.

After enjoying a record-breaking start during the Diwali festivities, the overall box office collections of Aamir Khan's film were largely affected as it faced total rejection from the audience.

Though Thugs Of Hindustan has collected Rs 140.40 crore (Hindi - Rs134.95 crore, Tamil and Telugu - Rs 5.45 crore) and become Aamir Khan's fourth highest opening week grosser after Dangal (Rs. 197.54 crore), Dhoom 3 (Rs. 188.99 crore) and PK (Rs. 183.09 crore), the movie may wrap up its lifetime business between Rs 150-170 crore.

On day 9 (second Friday), the movie collected merely Rs 2 crore which clearly hints that it will soon fade away from theatres across the country like ashes in the wind. Aamir Khan movies usually enjoy a dream run at the box office but Thugs Of Hindustan has literally fallen down on its knees and begging for good audience occupancy. And undoubtedly it has come as a major shock for the entire Bollywood industry as Aamir has been in his top form over the past few years.

Thugs Of Hindustan is the most expensive Hindi film produced by Yash Raj Films banner with an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore. It stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif.
