Director Shivakumar Murugesan's Tamil movie Thaai Kizhavi featuring Radhika Sarathkumar in the title role, has received positive reviews and decent ratings from the audience.
Pavunuthayi (Radikaa Sarathkumar) is a feared yet respected 70-year-old woman who works as a moneylender. She is known for her sharp tongue and uncompromising nature. She lives with her daughter and grandson, while remaining deliberately estranged from her three sons for years. What happens when Pavunuthayi is suddenly found in critical condition forms the crux of the story.
Thaai Kizhavi has an interesting story that is set against the backdrop of a small rural village. Debutant director Shivakumar Murugesan has executed neatly on screen. The first half of the movie is dragging as it takes time to establish the characters. The second half is interesting and last 30 minutes are entertaining, say the audience.
