Bollywood's latest release "Talaash: The Answer Lies Within" opened to an amazing response at box offices on Friday. However, it failed to break the first day collection of Shahrukh Khan's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan".
"Talaash", starring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, was released on Friday and got positive to mixed reviews from film critics.
"Talaash" is Aamir's much awaited movie released after a gap of three years. His last movie was a blockbuster hit "3 Idiots" released in 2009. The crime thriller was expected to break the first day collection of SRK's latest movie at domestic centres, but failed to do so.
Yash Chopra's last directorial romantic film "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", which stars Shahrukh, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, was released on Nov 13 across 2500 screens in India. The movie collected ₹15.23 crore at box offices in India on day one.
Reema Kagti's directorial movie was also released in 2,500 screens across the country and collected ₹14.52 cr on the opening day.
According to Box Office India, the movie opened well at 65 percent at multiplexes and around 40 percent at single screens. The film witnessed growth in the evening and night shows.
At ₹14.52 crore on the opening day, the film is the sixth highest opening for a movie released in 2012. The suspense thriller was made with a budget of ₹40 crore.
The suspense thriller will need good business on Saturday and Sunday to mark a big weekend figure at box offices.
