With every second that takes us closer to 14 December, the intensity with which we look for "Star Wars" trivia and spoilers also increases. While many rumours and plot speculations have been debunked, we still maintain hope that some of our theories – especially those regarding the return of beloved characters – will ring true.

It has been confirmed that all the core cast members of the original "Star Wars" trilogy will be returning for Episode VII "The Force Awakens". This includes Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker who will reprise their roles as Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, Chewbacca and R2-D2 respectively.

However, the fate of Yoda remained unknown; so far. According to StarWars News, a foreign fan of the "Star Wars" franchise has vouched that there would be Yoda scenes in the upcoming Episode VII. It would make sense for Yoda to return too, because as the website points out, it would be groundbreaking if the movie were to suggest that Yoda has been communicating with Luke for over 30 years; especially because, according to most fan theories, Luke will be a wise and powerful jedi with Yoda-esque powers.

Frank Oz, who voices Yoda in the series "Star Wars: Rebels" had also claimed that he would love to return for the films and voice the character. A fan that commented on the article said, "A dude who claims to have been at the recording sessions explaining what he heard. And he swears to high heaven that he heard Yoda's theme sooo........here's to hoping".

There is still hope for Yoda to return as a Force ghost, who possibly guides Luke through tumultuous times, in the galaxy far, far away. Meanwhile, here are the top 10 Yoda quotes, from the Council on Coruscant to his days on Dagobah.
