Shikhar Dhawan has found love once again and this time its for the keeps! The former Indian player is set to marry girlfriend Sophie Shine in February. The pre-wedding rituals will take place in Delhi-NCR and the wedding ceremony will take place possibly in Goa next month. It was during the India vs Bangladesh match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that Shikhar was spotted with Sophie.
Who is Sophie?
Shikhar was spotted sitting next to a woman and was later also seen reaching the airport together with her. Sophie is reportedly an Irish product consultant and has a massive fan following on social media. It was in 2025 that she was spotted wearing what seemed like an engagement ring everywhere she went.
It was later during one of the interviews that Shikhar Dhawan had said, "I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend." This had left little to the imagination of his followers. Since then, there have been rumours of the two getting married. Shine is now based in Abu Dhabi.
Wedding prep
Sophie is also involved with Shikhar in his philanthropic activities and is also a part of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation. The star player was earlier married to Ayesha Mukherjee and went through a bitter divorce in 2023. The wedding would be a quiet one followed by a grand reception with cricketers and Bollywood peeps in attendance.
"It's a new beginning, and they are treating it with quiet happiness and a lot of gratitude," a source told HT City. It added that Dhawan is quite involved in the planning of the wedding events.
