Samsung's recently unveiled Galaxy A8 Star is finally up for grabs online in India for Rs 34,990. It is available exclusively on Amazon with lucrative exchange offers.

Prospective consumers who are ready to trade in their old device for the new Galaxy A8 Star can claim up to Rs 7,205 off on Amazon. It comes in Midnight Black and Ivory White colour options. Samsung has also announced that the new phone will be released to brick-and-mortar stores across the country next week on September 5.

For the uninitiated, the Galaxy A8 Star flaunts a massive 6.3-inch full HD super AMOLED Infinity Display design similar to the top-end Samsung's Galaxy S and Note series phones. It also comes with the 'Always On' display feature that allows users to see notifications, weather and time and other information at a glance, without having to unlock the phone.

Another notable aspect of the Samsung's new phablet is its imaging capabilities. It boasts Dual Intellicam system backed by 16MP +24MP dual rear cameras. Both come with the F1.7 aperture that guarantees good quality images even in low-light.

The device is intuitive enough to select the appropriate lens according to the lighting condition outside. The camera also sports advanced Live Focus feature, allowing users to easily adjust the Bokeh effect before or after taking the picture to create superior quality images, whether it is blurring the background to the desired degree or adjusting the depth-of-field, so that users can highlight their subject, the company claims.

On the front, it boasts 24MP with F2.0 aperture and thanks to the intuitive camera app, it is capable of capturing bright and clear images and good selfies at any light condition. It also features the Smart Beauty mode to adjust skin tones perfect to share photos on the social media sites, the Pro-lighting mode that promises professional photo studio-like editing options and the exclusive AR stickers, which add the fun element to the pictures.

The new Galaxy A8 Star also features the Dual Messenger that enables users to create separate messenger accounts on the same phone for official and personal usage. Another interesting attribute of the device is the Secure Folder. It backed by Knox, Samsung's defence grade proprietary security platform that promised to help users protect their important files, sensitive content and apps from unwanted intruders.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with 6GB RAM, 64GB storage (expandable up to 400GB), Android Oreo OS and a big 3,700mAh battery, which is sufficient enough to keep the phone running for more than a day under mixed usage.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star vs Competition:

Though the Samsung claims that the Galaxy A8 Star has a good camera and visually appealing design language, it will have a tough time convincing consumers in India, as the device is competing with recently released Poco F1, which comes with super powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and a massive 4,000mAh battery. It will also be up against the impressive Asus Zenfone 5Z and Honor 10, among others.
