Karan Johar's most ambitious project "Shhuddhi" has again hit the headlines again for its leading lady. Last year, the makers of the film announced that Salman Khan would step into Hrithik Roshan's shoes, but they are yet to make an official announcement as who will be Kareena Kapoor Khan's replacement in the movie.

In February, Absolute India reported that Karan had roped in Jacqueline Fernandez for the female lead role and the "Roy" actress has been working on her dates.

But Jacqueline rubbished the rumours saying that she is not doing "Shhuddhi".

"I am not doing Shhuddhi. I have not even been approached for the film," Jacqueline said at an event.

Reports of Deepika Padukone being considered for the female lead role opposite Salman were also doing the rounds. But there hasn't been any official confirmation from the makers.

Meanwhile, the film has hit another roadblock as reports of film getting postponed surfaced online. Reports suggest that Salman choosing Yash Raj Films' "Sultan" over "Shhuddhi" has affected Karan's film schedule.

The film was supposed to go on the floor this year, but the actor will finish the shooting of three films "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" and "Sultan" before starting "Shhuddhi".

"He will start shooting for Sultan immediately after wrapping up Bajrangi and Prem Ratan. Post that, he will start Karan's film. As of now, no dates are finalised but the clarity on the dates will come once he is done with Bajrangi," a source informed DNA.
