Actor-turned-producer Nithin has postponed the release of Akhil Akkineni's debut film "Akhil: The Power of Jua", with the makers of Varun Tej's "Kanche" advancing its release date.
"Akhil: The Power of Jua" and "Kanche" are among the most-awaited Telugu movies of 2015. Both the films feature young scions of Akkineni and Mega family respectively. "Akhil", which marks the debut of Nagarjuna's younger son as hero, was scheduled to hit theatres as Dussehra treat on 22 October, two weeks before the release of "Kanche".
Rumours of the delay in the release of "Akhil: The Power of Jua" surfaced late night on Thursday and producer Nithiin â€took to his Twitter page to clear the air before things were blown out of proportion.
The actor-turned producer claimed that the delay in the technical work was the reason behind the postponement and assured that the new release date will be announced very soon. Nithin tweeted, "Due to delay in graphics work v r unable to release AKHIL on oct22nd..sorry for the delay..will announce the new release date soon..sorry.."
The makers had made all the arrangements for the grand release of "Akhil: The Power of Jua". They had kick-started the promotion and released the list of threatres in India as well as international markets. Many in the industry were busy predicting its collection and the news of the film's delay came as a big surprise to them.
Dussehra is considered to be one of good seasons for a film release and debutant Akhil would have got a big hit if "Akhil: The Power of Jua" was released during this time.
However, the makers of "Kanche" got into action soon after they heard the news and grabbed this chance before anybody could. Having advanced its date, they are now busy making arrangements for its release around the world.
On Thursday night, elated director Krish aka Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi â€tweeted, "Two weeks earlier!! Why wait #KancheOnOct22". Later, Varun Tej Konidela also confirmed the news about its release on Twitter, and wrote: "Kanche is all set to entertain you this Dusshera . October 22nd release!!"
If we are to go by the buzz in the industry, "Akhil: The Power of Jua" is expected to hit screens on 6 Novermber. Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted, "As per latest developments, Akhil is postponed to Nov 6 and Kanche is advanced to 22 Oct. Its unconfirmed - wait till tomorrow!"
