The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 49.1430 rupees and the euro 66.0625 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (February 27, 2012) were 49.0475 rupees and 65.8900 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 77.8573 as against 77.7795 on the previous day (February 27, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 60.99 as against 60.54 the previous day.
