Director Cibi Chakaravathi, who was a guest at the pre-release event of Thaai Kizhavi, said that Radhika Sarathkumar is the lady Kamal Haasan. She will win a National Award for the movie.
Talking about producer Sivakarthikeyan, Cibi said, "I come from a village and directing a hero like #Sivakarthikeyan was a dream. When I first narrated a story to him, he rejected it. I then approached several other heroes and eventually returned to him. This time he accepted it. From then on, he has been a great moral support to me. Even during phases of negativity, he stood by me."
Cibi says that Thaai Kizhavi is brilliant and the director has handled it with ease. "I watched Thaai Kizhavi last December and one thing struck me. It's a brilliant film. Director Siva has handled it with great ease. It's been a while since we had a strong rural story and this will definitely be that one," said director Cibi.
Thaai Kizhavi is a comedy drama, which is about Pavunuthayi, who is an independent, intimidating elderly woman in a rural village. She is known for being tough, ruthless, and blunt, especially as a moneylender whose strict enforcement of dues makes her feared by locals.

Radhika Sarathkumar has played the role of Pavunuthayi. Talking about it, Cibi said that she has got an interesting role in the movie Thaai Kizhavi and she will win a National Award for it. "Radhika mam is the lady #KamalHaasan. Surely she will win a National Award for this," said Cibi.
Sarathkumar has played an important role in Thaai Kizhavi. The actor, who attended its pre-release event, praised the performance of his wife, Radhika. She is the winner in the movie.
Sarathkumar said, "Radhika as Ponnuthai has rocked in this movie. I pray that Thaai Kizhavi runs for 100 days. Because if my wife succeeds, I'll feel as if I have won. Election results are already declared; Thaai Kizhavi is the winner, but I won't lose my deposit releasing my movie Aazhi opposite."
He added, "This movie made me cry both in comedy scenes, as they were hilarious max. and in emotional scenes as well. It speaks about women's empowerment very strongly, especially in the climax."
