Canadian pop singer Avril Lavingne, 30, has recently revealed to her fans about her health issues and it made her admirers panic over it.
However, the "Hello Kitty" singer did not divulge any details about her illness and told her followers that she wants to keep it private, reported USA Today.
"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them know why I've been absent. I'm torn as I'm quite private. I'm not feeling well. I have some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers," she tweeted.
The message, which she posted during a Twitter exchange with one of her admirers, made her followers worried about her sickness and they started sending messages and prayers for their pop icon through hashtags #GetWellSoonAvril and #PrayForAvril.
While some fans became concerned and curious about her sickness, the others were furious at the former lot and expressed their wrath through posts like, "U all need to stop asking what's her exact problem is, she wants to keep it private. Respect her privacy (sic)."
Meanwhile, the Grammy-nominated artiste did not forget to thank her well-wishers. "Wanted to say thx to my fans for the support this past year!" she wrote on her Twitter page.
With the new illness, Lavingne joins the list of popular singers, including Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Mariah Carey, Adele and Rihanna, who had to take a break from their glamorous careers due to various health problems.
