Coimbatore, Jan 08 (ANI): A three-day-long agriculture fair showcasing latest farming techniques has begun in state agricultural university of Tamil Nadu. There are more than 300 stalls at the fair, displaying new crop varieties and latest innovations by agricultural research centers from across the four southern India states. The main attraction of the fair is a variety of guava fruit called the Thailand guava -- which weighs up to 60 grams and has less seeds -- developed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The exhibition is aimed at introducing farmers to technologies like high density planting, precision farming, green house cultivation, farm mechanism, use of solar energy and integrated farm management for increased crop productivity.
