Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink has topped the list of IMDB's best Indian movies of 2016. IMDB has released a list of top 10 Indian movies of 2016, in which Pink secured the first slot, followed by Akshay Kumar's Airlift.

The movie Pink featured Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi, among others. While Pink is best Hindi movie of 2016 as per IMDB, Airlift takes the second slot and Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt's Dear Zindagi is the third top Bollywood movie of the year.

Others in the list accordingly are Udta Punjab, Kapoor and Sons, Neerja, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, 24, Saala Khadoos and Madaari.

Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary, Pink has been one of the most critically acclaimed Bollywood films of 2016. Although there was not much buzz around the movie before the release, positive response from the critics and strong word of mouth had worked in favour of the film.

Not just Amitabh, Taapsee and other stars of the movie were much appreciated for their performance. Pink highlighted the apparent stereotypes that Indian women face and the importance of a woman's consent with regard to sex.

Akshay's Airlift is also one of the most loved films of 2016. It was based on the real-story of the biggest human evacuation mission ever carried out by India when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990.

Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi dealt with human emotions and offers a number of life lessons. Udta Punjab starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt highlighted the issue of drugs in Punjab.

Kapoor and Sons, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Alia and Fawad Khan, is a comedy drama, showing family bonding. Neerja is a biopic on the life of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, who was killed by terrorists during Pan Am Flight 73 hijack.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is another biopic on the life of India's one of the most loved cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Saala Khadoos featured R Madhavan and Ritika Singh. It is a sports drama. 24 is a science-fiction Tamil film starring Suriya. Madaari, starring Irrfan Khan, is a social thriller.
