The year 2016 had its share of scandals created by stars of reality shows that not only managed to tarnish their image, but in a couple of cases caused law enforcement authorities to get involved and investigate.

Here, we are listing out five such scandals that rocked the nation this year.

Chumlee's home raided: This wasn't a good year for Pawn Stars' Austin Lee Russell, who is better known as Chumlee. The 33-year-old was arrested in March after police serving a search warrant in a sexual assault case found drugs such as methamphetamine and marijuana and a gun at his home.

Kim Kardashian Paris robbery: The Keeping Up with the Kardashian star was robbed at gunpoint during her stay in Paris in October. Initially, it was believed to be a stunt pulled by her PR team to boost the rating of their reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Josh Duggar sex scandal: TLC pulled the plug on the Duggars' family show 19 Kids and Counting after it was revealed that Josh Duggar had molested his sisters as a teen. The scandal first grabbed headlines last year, and in 2016, Josh checked into a rehab facility to deal with his problems.

Toby Willis: The star of TLC's The Willis Family grabbed headlines in September when he was arrested for raping an underage girl 12 years ago. The Willis Family aired for two seasons on TLC before being cancelled in May and the network said in a statement that it was shocked to hear about the charges against Toby.

Chad Johnson: ABC's dating reality show The Bachelor has seen its share of villains. But in 2016, The Bachelorette introduced Chad Johnson as a contestant vying to win JoJo Fletcher's heart and he instantly became one of the most hated persons on television, thanks to his threatening ways.
