All eyes were on Deepika Padukone's first Hollywood red carpet appearance at the MTV EMAs (Europe Music Awards) 2016 and she did not disappoint. However, this cannot be termed as her best red carpet appearance.
Deepika attended the MTV EMAs 2016 on Sunday night wearing Indian designer Monisha Jaising's thigh-high slit military green skirt with an embellished bralette. Valliyan fringe earrings, a Balmain belt, Misho rings and black heels completed her look.
The xxx: Return of Xander Cage actress posed for the shutterbugs a few times in a metallic 3-D embellished heavy-duty bomber jacket that made her look stunning. "Military green is a functional and strong colour. It has a tough, almost androgynous appeal for all of those women warriors out there! Deepika is unstoppable, fit and fierce; making a perfect muse for my Artemisia Gown. I'm thrilled to collaboratively envision with Shaleena Nathani, and create this very special piece for Deepika Padukone for the EMAs," Jaising wrote in an Instagram post.
Deepika, along with her xxx: Return of Xander Cage co-star Nina Dobrev, attended the music award show as one of the presenters. On Sunday night, Nina and Deepika announced The Weeknd as the winner in the best video category.
Talking about her first Hollywood red carpet appearance, Deepika said that this is a step forward in her global career. "I was pleasantly surprised when I got the invite. It is very gracious of them to invite me. I have grown up watching the MTV awards and I didn't think that one day, I would be walking down the red carpet and presenting an award at this global music event. It's a step forward in my global career," Deepika told DNA in an interview.
