Pawan Kalyan, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Trivikram Srinivas, and many other celebs from the Telugu film industry paid tributes to filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao, who died of prolonged illness on Tuesday.

Dasari Narayana Rao directed 150 movies in Telugu and Hindi, produced 50 films and also worked as a dialogue writer and lyricist. Besides, he introduced several heroes, heroines and mentored many directors and writers in his career that spanned across four decades. He won several honours for his work.

The 75-year-old director was instrumental in shifting the base of Tollywood from Chennai to Hyderabad. His sudden death saddenned many celebs, who visited the Film Chambers to pay last respects to him.

Junior NTR, who is busy shooting his next movie Jai Lava Kusa took a break from the filming to pay his last respects to the filmmaker.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu who had recently met Dasari Narayana Rao at the hospital was shocked to hear the news about his death. He rushed to Hyderabad, keeping aside all his responsibilities. He paid homage to the veteran director and said, "The Telugu film industry has lost one of its pillars. Dasari brought glory to Telugu films at the national level and had been a fatherly figure in the industry. His death is a deep loss to the film fraternity."

Veteran actor Mohan Babu, who considers Dasari Narayana Rao as his mentor, was so grief-stricken that he was seen crying bitterly as he laid the garland on the body of the director.

Mohan Babu's wife Nirmala and sons Vishnu and Manchu Manoj were also seen paying their last respects to Dasari Narayana Rao.
