Akshay Kumar is all set to hit the big screen with yet another much-awaited film PadMan. Set to hit the screens this Friday, February 9, the movie is going to have a solo release and thus, it is expected to have a good opening.

According to our prediction, PadMan will beat the first-day box office collection of Akshay's previous flick, Toilet Ek Prem Katha (Rs 13.10 crore).

PadMan is predicted to earn Rs 14-15 crore on its opening day. Akshay has been having an excellent phase at the box office with back to back hits and is likely to strike gold this time too.

Directed by R Balki, PadMan is based on a real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham from Tamil Nadu, who invented a machine to create low-cost sanitary napkins, and revolutionized the issue of menstrual hygiene in rural India.

The trailer and the promos of the film have received good response from the viewers and created immense curiosity. Thus, the movie is also expected to receive rave reviews.

Padman also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in key roles. This is the first time Sonam is appearing on-screen after her amazing performance in Neerja. Her role in PadMan also looks quite interesting. Incidentally, she has a tough competitor, Radhika Apte in the R Balki directorial. The Phobia actress has always scored brownie points with her acting skills in all her movies.

Earlier, the film was supposed to be released on January 25, but it was pushed to February 9 to make way for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, which was facing a lot of hurdles.

Although the plot of PadMan is a serious one, the trailer and promos of the film showed that it will have a lot of funny moments as well. Akshay being excellent in his comic timing, one can expect to have an extremely entertaining time watching PadMan.
