Punjabi movie "Sardaar Ji" (Sardar Ji) continued to rock the overseas box office as it topped the international business, beating new Tamil release "Papanasam", in its second weekend.
In its second weekend, "Sardaar Ji" has collected $67,278 from 24 screens at the USA box office, taking its 10-day total $345,482 (₹2.19 crores). It has landed in the second place, while "Papanasam" topped the US business charts with its first weekend collection of $205,426 (₹1.30 crore).
"Sardaar Ji" continued doing superb business in Canada, which is considered as the next big market for Punjabi films after Punjab. In its second weekend, the film has raked in US$132,507 from 14 screens in Canada and its 10-day total stands at US$550,937 (₹3.49 crore). It has topped the collection chart, beating "Papanasam", which has collected US$29,997 (₹19.03 lakh) from 8 screens.
In its second weekend, "Sardaar Ji" has collected £50,169 from 16 screens at the UK box office, taking its 10-day total to £204,055 (₹2.01 crore). While it topped the UK business chart, "Papanasam" has landed in the second place with its first weekend collection £32,059 (₹31.71 lakh) from 21 screens.
The Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa and Mandy Takhar starrer continues to top the business chart in Australia and New Zealand in the second weekend. "Sardaar Ji" has collected A$82,968 from 20 screens in Australia NZ$20,620 from 7 screens in New Zealand and its 10-day total is A$608,345 (₹2.89 crores) and NZ$167,322 (₹70.96 lakh), respectively in these countries.
Tamil film "Papanasam" has done fantastic collection and has topped the business chart in Malaysia as it did not have any competitor there. The Kamal Haasan starrer has collected MYR 233,178 (₹39.15 lakh) from 21 screens at the Malaysia box office in its opening weekend.
In its second weekend, "Sardaar Ji" has collected $353,861 (₹2.24 crore) from 81 screens at the overseas box office, while "Papanasam" raked in $346,491 (₹2.19 crore) from 130 screens in the first weekend. The Punjab film has once topped the international business chart, pushing down the Tamil movie to the second place.
"Sardaar Ji" has collected $1,779,788 (₹11.28 crore) at the international box office in 10 days. The movie has already crossed the mark of $1 million and is now fast heading towards $2 million.
