Mohanlal's Odiyan has remained strong and made good collection at the worldwide box office on Monday (day 4). But the makers are said to have inflated the numbers in its three-day business report shared on Facebook.

Having a rocking weekend, Odiyan witnessed a steep decline of 50 percent in its collection at the box office on its fourth day. With Monday being a working day, there was a decrease in the number of shows and screens and ticket price, which is the usual trend for any film. But still, it registered decent numbers, when compared to other big-ticket movies.

The VA Shrikumar Menon-directed fantasy thriller witnessed average occupancy in the morning and matinee shows, but its footfalls increased in the evening shows on Monday. Some cinema halls had packed houses. The makers are yet to reveal its numbers. But if we are to go by the early estimates, Odiyan has collected over Rs 4 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the fourth day.

But there is a lot of confusion about its first-weekend collection in the international markets. The makers claimed on its Facebook page that Odiyan collected Rs 16.51 crore at the overseas box office on the first day. But some trade analysts, who track numbers on Rentrack, claimed that the figures were inflated.

On Monday, the producers claimed that Odiyan surpassed Rs 60 crore gross mark at the worldwide box office on its first weekend. But the trade experts' numbers show that it was yet to cross Rs 40 crore gross mark in the global market. The trade pundits' estimates show that the movie minted Rs 36 to 38 crore gross in three days.

The makers of Odiyan have not revealed its area-wise collection of the first weekend. According to the trade pundits, they have apparently inflated the numbers of its international collection. However, IBTimes, India made an attempt to get clarity on this from the makers, but they are yet to respond to us on Facebook.
