Director Vishal Bhardwaj's Hindi movie O Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, has received positive reviews and decent ratings from the audience.
O' Romeo is a romantic action thriller film, which is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi. Vishal Bhardwaj has written the screenplay for the movie, which is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Vikrant Massey.
What fate awaits a stone-hearted gangster, a bloodthirsty womaniser, when true love claims him, helpless and unguarded, a gang war that shakes the entire underworld and crime syndicate to their very roots. A forbidden love, the tale of an unrequited passion.
The movie has strong writing filled with twists and thrilling moments. The first half of the movie is entertaining and roller-coaster ride. The second half is also good but seems to be stretched. Shahid Kapoor's performance is electrifying, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar and others have done their best. Music, camera work, action and dialogues are the attraction on the technical front, say audience.

#ORomeo is another #ShahidKapoor film that will earn him appreciation for his performance, but not necessarily love for the film itself. The core issue isn't the scale, performances or technical craft. It's emotion. Despite strong storytelling, stylish action, sharp dialogues and music, the film struggles to create an emotional connection with its characters. And when emotional grounding is weak, even violence and cinematic flair feel distant. #ShahidKapoor performs well, though some of his gangster quirks feel slightly off at times. #TriptiiDimri is fine. #AvinashTiwary makes an impression despite limited screen time. Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia and Vikrant Massey are okay. Overall a bold risk by #VishalBhardwaj, but one that doesn't fully pay off.

REVIEW: #ORomeo Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ One expects gritty realism, quirky humour, taut screenplay and exquisite detailing from a #VishalBhardwaj movie... and O ROMEO' delivers on all these fronts. There are several threads running through the movie and Bhardwaj adroitly weaves them into a coherent & compelling whole. The screenplay is packed with powerful dialogues, surprising twists and skillfully mounted action sequences. #ShahidKapoor as Romeo is fabulous. His body language and diction are in sync with the core of the character that he's playing. #TriptiiDimri displays quiet strength with utmost conviction. #NanaPatekar is first-rate. #FaridaJalal has a brief role but she breathes life into it. #AvinashTiwary as Jalal leaves an impact. The face-off between Shahid and Avinash in the climax is whistle-worthy. Music by Bhardwaj is good. One of the joys is songs of the 1990s from #Aashiqui, #Beta, #DilHaiKiMantaNahin which are played in the background... as that's the era where the movie is set. Dialogues are razor-sharp and one of the highlights of the movie. The Mumbai underworld lingo is completely authentic. Producer #SajidNadiadwala has spared no effort and money in giving a sprawling canvas to the film. Production values are top-notch. On the whole, 'O ROMEO' is an ambitious and largely absorbing movie. It packs a solid punch. RECOMMENDED #ORomeoReview
