American chipset firm Nvidia is reportedly planning to launch a high-end gaming centric device, named Shield Tablet, later this month.

Technology blog Videocardz has gotten hold of the screenshots of the Nvidia device's portfolio webpage, revealing the specifications and price of the yet-to-be announced tablet.

According to the leaked archive, Shield Tablet flaunts an 8.0-inch full HD IPS LCD screen and comes packed with the company's in-house built Tegra K1 quad-core processor which can clock 2.3GHz CPU speed. This beast is backed by the 192-core Kepler graphics card, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage (expandable up to 128GB).

To further enhance the user-experience, the company has reportedly incorporated DirectStylus 2 (with 3D paint ability) and is also expected release separate wireless controller for users (they can sync their tablet to big-screen PC/ Smart TV and play games via the controller) but this accessory has to be bought separately.

Nvidia Shield Tablet is said to come in two variants - one a high-end LTE +Wi-Fi only (32GB) model and another Wi-Fi only (16GB) for 399 (around €295/₹24,000) and $299 (around €221/₹18,000) respectively, whereas the wireless game pad is expected come with a price tag of $59 (around €47/₹­­­­­­­­­­­­­3,500).

The Nvidia tablet is slated to get launched next week (on 22 July) and will hit stores initially in USA on 29 July and later in European markets on 14 August.

On the very same day, in the east, Xiaomi is getting ready to launch the company's flagship steel-alloy-clad smartphone Mi4 in China.
