Xiaomi Mi3 Flash Sale 5: Smartphone Stocks Sold-Out in Record 2.3 SecondsXiaomi India

Specifications and price details of the much-awaited Xiaomi Mi4 have surfaced online, just ahead of the official launch on 22 July.

A website, going by the moniker Xiaomi World, has listed the yet-to-be announced Mi4 for $599.99 (around €443.48/₹36,101/¥3,722) with key features and snapshots, reported BGR India.

According to the listing, Xiaomi Mi4 is said to flaunt a mammoth 5.5-inch 2K (2560x1440p) resolution display with staggering pixel density of 538 ppi (pixels per inch), the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 series quad-core processor and 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory.

Other key features which are said to come loaded in Mi4 are a 13.0-megapixel camera (with OIS), a 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a high-capacity 3200 mAh battery.

The picture on the webpage shows Xiaomi Mi4, featuring metallic brown hued back-case with the ominous 'Mi' embellishment below the camera module (with LED flash). And on the front side, we can see the camera at the top (centre) and a speaker grill above it [to view Xiaomi Mi4, click here].

Though the features listed in the website seem a bit believable to assume a worthy upgrade for Xiaomi Mi4 over its predecessor, there is no credible proof to validate the authenticity of this report. It might even be created by a company fan.

However, company CEO Bin Lin on 10 July indirectly (via Facebook) hinted that Xiaomi Mi 4 might boast a steel body, and the company's recent Facebook post also showed the rear-side of a big silver hued device with the press invites for the 22 July, annual product launch event.

The Facebook post's tag said – "The Journey of a Piece of Steel" with a statement – "Yes, the letter is made of a real piece of steel, what do you think? Would you like to come to the event if invited?" all but confirming that the next generation Mi-series phone will boast a steel back-case. [To view the page, click here]

Earlier this week, Xiaomi officially set foot in to the Indian market with the launch of company's flagship smartphone Mi 3 along with Redmi 1S and Redmi Note.

The new Xiaomi Mi 3 comes with  dirt-cheap price tag of just ₹13,999, making it the cheapest full HD (1920x1080p) smartphone in the market; that's not all, this feature-rich handset also flaunts magnesium alloy body with three layers of thermal graphite film and under the hood it boasts of Qualcomm's superfast beast, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics engine and 2GB RAM.

The Xiaomi comes with a reputation of being the China's answer to Apple Inc. Its market share in the neighboring country has raised to 10-percent (courtesy, PC World) within 3 years of entering the highly competitive smartphone business with the launch of Mi1 in 2011. The Company reportedly sold 26.1 million handsets in the first half of 2014, more than combined sales of previous year (whole of 2013) with staggering year-to-year growth of 278-perecent, reported Business Insider.

The company's unprecedented success is attributed to Xiaomi's strategy of incorporating high-end specifications and selling them for dirt-cheap prices. Having tasted success in China, the company has set eyes on the global market and hired Hugo Barra (former Google Android division, vice-president and product spokesman) in 2013. Xiaomi has even roped in Manu Kumar Jain, Jabong (online retail-shop) co-founder, to look after the company's Indian arm.
