A major breakthrough has emerged in the Nashik TCS conversion and sexual harassment case, with Maharashtra Police arresting key accused Nida Khan from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after she allegedly remained absconding for several weeks.

Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik said Nida Khan was taken into custody with the assistance of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police and the Nashik Crime Branch team. She was allegedly hiding in a flat in Kaiser Colony in the Naregaon area and was arrested following a detailed surveillance operation conducted by investigators.

According to police officials, Khan had been on the run since March 25 after multiple cases related to alleged sexual harassment and forcible religious conversion were registered at the Deolali Camp police station in Nashik. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the matter is currently investigating nine cases linked to the Nashik unit of Tata Consultancy Services.

Earlier this month, a Nashik court rejected Khan's anticipatory bail plea after the prosecution argued that custodial interrogation was necessary due to the seriousness of the allegations.

Public prosecutor Ajay Misar told the court that Khan was one of the prime accused in the case and that investigators required her custody to further the probe.

Khan, a graduate of Savitribai Phule Pune University, worked as an HR manager at the Nashik TCS BPO unit and was also a member of the Internal Complaints Committee responsible for implementing the POSH Act and addressing workplace grievances.

Investigators allege that she ignored complaints submitted by victims, failed to escalate allegations of harassment and took no action despite being in a position of responsibility. Some complainants have accused her of dismissing concerns as routine workplace issues, while police suspect she played a role in shielding the accused and suppressing complaints.

Police said Khan's family members, including her parents, brother and aunt, were also staying at the flat where she was found. Officials conducted a recce of the area over two days before carrying out the arrest operation to avoid any risk of escape.

The case has triggered widespread attention in Maharashtra, with investigators continuing to examine allegations related to workplace harassment and forced religious conversion at the Nashik facility.
