The filming of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo season 2 might begin in June and fans may soon get to watch their favourite characters, including Prince Wang So and Hae Soo, back on the screens again.
The lead cast members, such as Lee Ji Eun a.k.a IU and Hong Jong Hyun, had teased about the renewal of the Korean period drama last month and they have hinted on it again on social media. They apparently met each other briefly for the initial discussion of the next instalment with the producing director.
Actress Kang Han Na, who portrays Hwangbo Yeo Hwa a.k.a Queen Daemok in the historical drama, added a few photos of her co-stars to her Instagram stories, and it immediately captured the attention of her fans.

Two of the images featured IU and they were accompanied with the words: "Excited to go out for the first time in a while!" and "But I hear she has a fan sign event tomorrow..." Another snap featured the actress with her onscreen brother Kang Ha Neul.
Meanwhile, artist Lee Hoo Chang, who was in charge of making masks for the characters, also teased the fans of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo by adding a few images of Lee Joon Gi and IU as Prince Wang So and Hae Soo to his Instagram stories.
So, the followers of the Korean mini-series from across the globe are hopeful of a renewal, and they are eagerly waiting for an official announcement from SBS. However, so far, the broadcasting network is tight-lipped about their decision to renew the historical drama for a new season.
The period drama, which revolves around the life of a Crown Prince and his relationship with a court lady, wrapped up its first season in November. Since the finale did not feature a happy ending for the onscreen couple, the fans are demanding a new season or a special episode of the show, featuring a reunion between Wang So and Hae Soo.
