Mollywood superstar Mohanlal is currently busy with the shooting of his new movie 'Lucifer' which marks the directorial debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran. Ever since the announcement of the movie, several rumours regarding Mohanlal's character have been fluttering all around the internet.

Now, a close source to the movie has revealed that Mohanlal is playing the role of a politician named Stephen Nadumballi in this most-anticipated flick.

The first look poster of 'Lucifer' was unveiled by the makers a few weeks back, and it showed Mohanlal in a bearded avatar, a look very similar to his Tamil movie 'Jilla'. In the official first look poster, the superstar was seen sitting in a chair wearing a white mundu (A traditional Kerala dress). The poster also carried the tagline, 'Blood, Brotherhood, Betrayal', and it literally elevated the mystery surrounding this film.

'Lucifer' is a movie which is loaded with an ensemble star cast including lady Superstar Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Saniya Iyyappan. Recently, it has been also confirmed that Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi is also playing a prominent role in this movie. If reports are true, then Vivek will be seen playing the character of Mohanlal's brother in 'Lucifer'.

In an exclusive talk with the Times of India, Vivek Oberoi revealed that it is his dream to debut in the Malayalam industry with a Mohanlal movie. It should be also noted that Vivek initially debuted in Bollywood with the movie 'Company' which also featured Mohanlal in a pivotal role.

The shooting of the movie is now progressing steadily in and around South Kerala.

Mohanlal's upcoming release is the mega-budget movie 'Odiyan'. The film is directed by Sreekumar Menon, and is scheduled to have a theatrical release on October 11. However, many unofficial reports which surfaced online claiming that the movie's release has been postponed due to the recent floods. As per these reports, the post-production works of this movie have been delayed due to the unexpected floods.
