Manish Malhotra is undoubtedly one of the biggest fashion stalwarts of India. This ace fashion designer has not only collaborated with actors and directors in Bollywood, but even Hollywood celebrities too have worn outfits designed by him. It is wise to say that for millions, Malhotra and outfits designed by him are an aspiration in the Indian fashion market. However, star kids of Bollywood have had easy access to him, and not only is he working with them now bnut has also continued to work with their parents. Malhotra recently opened up about the same and shared his views on working with Gen-Z actors.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Malhotra candidly put forth his view about how traditional or dominant creative hierarchies are becoming obsolete in today's more collaborative and flexible creative environments. In fact, he spoke about how star kids of today or Gen Z actors, are very open to having open conversations and having a collaborative effort.

He said, "I've worked with Chunky Panday and now Ananya Panday, from Sridevi to Janhvi Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan to Suhana Khan. That journey is only possible when you don't approach work by saying you know better because you've worked with the previous generation."

Malhotra further went on to add, "The minute you stop being collaborative, the process breaks down. Today's generation responds to conversations, not instructions," and also highlighted that he has not faced issues with professionalism on movie sets.

The ace designer mentioned that the Gen-Z actors are extremely involved with her work and are keen on learning in the process.

He said, "They are extremely invested in their work and very open to learning. What I see in them is a strong sense of self and a real desire to be part of the creative process, not just the end result."

Malhotra further added, "I see my role as a bridge, someone who understands the classic language of Hindi cinema but can also speak the contemporary, visual, and cultural language that this younger generation connects with."

He concluded by talking about how one needs to keep listening to evolve, and that is the way forward.

The fashion designer has now started exploring the process of filmmaking by getting into producing films like Radhika Apte starrer 'Saali Mohabbat' and Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh's 'Gustaakh Ishq'.
