Much-hyped Mammootty starrer "Kasaba" was released as an Eid treat in Kerala and Tamil Nadu on Thursday, July 7. The action thriller, which is the second release of the megastar in 2016, has been released in 101screens in Kerala at a time when three other Malayalam films have also hit the theatres.
With "Kasaba," which is the debut directorial venture of Nithin Renji Panicker, the megastar, who plays the role of Circle Inspector Rajan Zachariah, dons the police uniform again after a gap of five years. The film is expected to make tremendous opening day collection at the Kerala box office owing to the huge fan following of the star apart from the film's pre-release hype.

Unlike other cop movies that the Kerala audience is familiar with, "Kasaba" is expected to be different as the character played by Mammootty has both serious and comic elements that is evident from the official teaser of the flick. "Kasaba" stars Neha Saxena, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Jagadish, Sampath Raj, Maqbool Salmaan, Shaheen Siddique and Siddique in significant roles. Kasaba has got a thumbs down from my side. Poor story; usual predicable investigation tale. No twist No suspense; amazeball as hell. What impresses me most about Kasaba is Mamooka. He is just amazing in his role. A Wacky cop. Not an absolved police officer too. So it wont disappoint the fans.

For them Kasaba will be a satisfying movie but for me Kasaba is an average flick.
Screen space of Mammokka and Performance of Siddiqikka was terrifc. ♥

Double meaning dialogues sometimes was very much over the par and that dialogues may sometimes make Kasaba avoidable for familes in coming days.
