Malaika Arora urges women to not marry early; says "live and experience life a bit"

Malaika Arora has always lived on her own terms. She is an absolute boss lady who does not refrain from expressing her thoughts and is absolutely decisive about the calls she takes in life. Malaika has never shied away from admitting the mistakes she has made in life and is absolutely candid about those. She tied the knot with Arbaaz Khan at the age of 25 and is now of the opinion that women should not get married very young and rather enjoy life. Her open-hearted conversation has gone viral, and there are many resonating with it. 

Marriage, whether one is part of Bollywood or not, can be very difficult. It is not always the fairytale one thinks it to be, and sometimes the reality takes time to hit. Malaika got married very young and had a child with Arbaaz Khan. The two later decided to call off the marriage and go their separate ways. In an interview with India Today, Malaika absolutely urged young girls to not to get married young. 

She said, "Please don't make the mistake of getting married so young. Yes, beautiful things have happened (during marital life), the best being that I had my kid early. But live and experience life a bit. Then take the call to settle down. Be financially and emotionally independent before you actually settle down."

Malaika then opened up about her divorce from Arbaaz. She admitted that even though things have not worked out for her, she is not averse to love, and neither is she opposed to the idea of it. However, she was clear about the fact that she is not actively seeking it. 

The actress said, "I do believe in marriage, but that doesn't mean it's meant for me. If it happens, great. But I'm not seeking it. I'm very content. I was married. Then I moved beyond that. I've been in relationships. But I am not jaded. I still love my life. I love the idea of love. I love being loved and sharing love. I love being in a situation where I can nurture something beautiful. So, I'm totally open to it. But at the same time, I'm not seeking it. If it happens, if it comes knocking at my door, then I will."

For those unversed, Malaika and Arbaaz fell in love in the early 1990s and then tied the knot in 1998. The two got divorced in 2017 but continue to coparent their son, Arhaan. As per rumours, Malaika was earlier dating Arjun Kapoor and is now dating Harsh Mehta, while Arbaaz is married to Sshura Khan.
