Mahesh Babu's highly anticipated movie Varanasi is being made with a Rs 1300 crore budget. SS Rajamouli says that he has been known for pushing the budget and boundaries time and again.

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali movies were made with a whopping budget of Rs 450 crore. His next movie, RRR, was produced with a massive budget of Rs 550 crore. If we are to go by the reports, his upcoming movie Varanasi is being made with a budget of Rs 1,300 crore, which is more than double the budget of the RRR movie.

In a recent interview with Variety, SS Rajamouli defended increasing the budget with each of his films. The director said, "I have been known for pushing the budget and boundaries right from my second or third film. I started pushing boundaries from more than what the market is. With Baahubali, we pushed it really hard, and we were successful in doing that.

The filmmaker said that he has found ways to recover the big budget of his movie, which makes the production houses trust him. He added, "The production companies had that trust in me even though budgets are higher. We will find ways of bringing back the investments. We have done it over again so that production houses trusted us."
