The fourth season of Karan Johar's chat show "Koffee With Karan" is getting controversial by the day. Director Mahesh Bhatt and actor Emraan Hashmi made their debut on the latest episode which was aired on Sunday.

The conversation over coffee turned fascinating when the uncle-nephew duo took a dig at many Bollywood biggies, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali among others.

Emraan and Bhatt surprised everyone with their answers during the rapid fire round.

Karan asked Emraan to name an actor or actress when he cited certain attributes. When asked who was an overrated actor Emraan pointed to Imran Khan and when the host uttered "plastic" Emraan named Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The "Ek Thi Daayan" actor also called Aamir Khan "boring" and termed Salman a "macho man".

Even Bhatt during his turn called Kajol and Sanjay Leela Bhansali an overrated actress and director, respectively.

But defending their answers, Bhatt told Mumbai Mirror, "Does this nation have no sense of humour? Or is the nation awed by their non-existent greatness? Koffee with Karan is a lighthearted show on which you are asked frivolous questions which you are expected to answer honestly. People have an opinion about Emraan and me, ditto for us. But this is all in context of the show."

"I hope our opinions are taken in the right spirit. If you are in a public space you should take such comments with a pinch of salt."
