Superstar Mohanlal is basking in the success of three back-to-back blockbusters -- Janatha Garage, Oppam and Pulimurgan -- within two months at the Kerala box office. The success of these big budget movies has helped him retain the tag of being the top actor in Mollywood.

The latest action thriller of Mohanlal, directed by Vysakh, is set to become one of the biggest grossers of the superstar. Pulimurugan, which completed its 18 days of theatrical run in the state, is said to have made a collection of approximately Rs 44.15 crore within 17 days in Kerala. It is expected to cross the Rs 50 crore mark during the weekend, due to the long Diwali holidays.

Produced by Tomichan Mulakupaadam, Pulimurugan has been running successfully with housefull shows all over the state. The movie has crossed Rs 2 crore mark at the multiplexes in Kochi alone to have a total of Rs 2.23 crore within 17 days. The 17th day collection of the Mohanlal-starrer was Rs 16.04 lakh, which is more than the opening day collection of the movie from 47 shows on the first day from the multiplexes.

According to trade analysts, Pulimurugan has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Mohanlal's blockbuster movie Drishyam, which is believed to have earned Rs 42.5 crore at the Kerala box office. Until Vysakh's action thriller made an earth-shattering business, Mohanlal's family entertainer, helmed by Jeethu Joseph, was on the top spot among the biggest grossers in Malayalam.

Meanwhile, the superstar's crime thriller Oppam has also been performing well at the Kerala box office along with Pulimurugan. The Priyadarshan directorial, in which Mohanlal plays the role of a blind person, is said to have earned a gross collection of Rs 38.85 crore within 45 days of its release in the state.
