Karwaan starring Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan, Bollywood star Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar is all set to hit the theatres on August 3. A special screening was held for the film fraternity two days ahead of the release in Mumbai and the movie has made them fall in love with the engaging connect.
The story revolves around 3 oddballs from different walks of life who are thrown together on a somewhat bizarre journey which helps them find normalcy in their lives. It is a road trip on which some crazy adventures take place, some lines are crossed, some bonds are forged, detours are made, experiences are shared and secrets are revealed.
An uneasy alliance is formed between three unlikely co-passengers on an eventful (and often hilarious) journey from Bangalore to Ooty to Kumarakom and finally to Kochi.
Their never-ending journey through the beautiful roads of South India seems to have touched Bollywood celebrities in many ways who have now taken to Twitter to share their experience after the watching the movie.
Dulquer Salmaan is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Karwaan this Friday who would be seen essaying the role of Avinash who lands up in a most uncomfortable situation surrounded by two eccentric characters; Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar.
Karwaan is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Akarsh Khurana. The story is also co-written by Akarsh and he gets candid about the film and his experiences. It starts with just an idea and the execution makes it a masterpiece.
Talking about the thoughts that went in the making of Karwaan, Akarsh said, "I keep getting asked how much money I think the film will earn at the box office. And whether we will touch the 100 CR figure. I don't know how to process these questions. I want people to enjoy the film. I want it to linger with them. I'd love for it to make lots of money, but I don't know how to set that target. I want my producers to recover what they spent for sure, but for me, as a creator, I want lots of people to love the work that the team and I loved putting together."
He added, "Bejoy came up with this bizarre idea of a man being delivered a wrong dead body and Adhir and I immediately thought this was the kind of situation we could flesh out to write a funny and emotional film."
