American Utility vehicle major got a much-needed reboot in India with the Compass launch last year after a lacklustre start in 2016. The Wrangler and Grand Cherokee were exorbitantly priced at the time of launch while competitively priced Compass set the sales chart of Jeep upwards. Jeep now plans to carry on the momentum with the Compass by bringing variants.

Jeep India will launch Compass Black Pack special edition and a new range-topping variant dubbed Limited Plus soon. The company has already revealed the details of the Black Pack edition while a unit of Limited Plus has already been spotted on road.

As the name suggests, the Black Pack edition comes bathed in black. The special edition gets 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels, all black interior upholstery and black coloured Outer Rear View Mirrors (ORVM) caps. Jeep will offer the Compass Black Pack edition in three colour options- Vocal White, Minimal Grey, and Magnesio Grey.

The new range-topping Compass Limited Plus variant will boast a panoramic sunroof. As the buyers are increasingly opting for a sunroof and the rival models are also now offering, it will add bling to the Compass' new top-spec variant.

Additionally, the Compass Limited Plus will flaunt a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 18-inch alloy wheels. Eight-way power adjustable driver seat and four-way power adjustable front passenger is another major addition, reports Autocar.

Jeep Compass Limited Plus will also get dual-front airbags, side and curtain airbags and rain-sensing wipers as standard equipment. The Limited Plus variant of the Jeep Compass will be expensive than the Limited variant that currently retails from Rs 19.57 lakh to Rs 21.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

There will be no changes under the hood in Black pack or Limited Plus. Both new versions are expected to be offered in the options of a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo engine that belts out 160bhp and 250Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel mill that develops 170.6bhp and 350Nm of torque.

Jeep India already sells another special edition christened Compass Bedrock at Rs 17.53 lakh while off-road focussed Compass Trailhawk edition will join the range in early 2019.
