'Janatha Garage' movie review: NTR-Mohanlal film garners mixed response from audience

Director Koratala Siva's Telugu movie "Janatha Garage" (JG), featuring Mohanlal, Junior NTR, Samantha and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, has received mixed reviews from the audience.

"Janatha Garage" is an action film, made simultaneously in Malayalam with the same title. Besides direction, Koratala Siva has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the movie, which offers entertainment as well as a beautiful message to society.

The story of "Janatha Garage" is about an IIT graduate named Anand (Junior NTR), who loves nature and encourages people to plant saplings. After completing his education, Anand starts working with his uncle (Mohanlal) at his garage. His uncle was once a don in Mumbai and Anand learns about his past. How Anand takes on the people, who forced his uncle to settle down in Hyderabad, forms the crux of the story.

Viewers say "Janatha Garage" is a routine revenge drama, but the director narrates this clichéd story with lots of twists and turns that make it an engaging watch. The first half of the film is average and lacks entertainment quotient. The story gains momentum before the interval and the second half is fast and engaging. The climax is the USP of the film.

Junior NTR has delivered a superb performance and impresses everyone. Mohanlal has done justice to his role and his performance is another highlight of the film. Samantha and Nithya Menen impress film-goers with their glamour and Kajal Aggarwal's item song is one of the attractions of the movie. Unni Mukundan, Saikumar, Devayani, Rahman, Sithara, Brahmaji and Ajay are also assets of the film, say viewers.

Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan have produced "Janatha Garage" under their banner Mythri Movie Makers in association with Eros International. The film has rich production values. Devi Sri Prasad's songs and background score, Tirru's beautiful picturisation, punchy dialogues, amazing choreography of action and dance scenes are the attractions on the technical front, add the audience.

To many fights make you yawn with a single line story. @tarak9999 , @Mohanlal , Visuals, DOP Thiru are the only positives, emotional disconnect & slow tempo killed the movie.
