The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court related to Jana Nayagan, mentioning that no orders shall be passed in the case until they are heard.
The censor-related controversy surrounding Vijay's Jana Nayagan has now reached the Supreme Court. Recently, the Madras High Court's Division Bench set aside the Single Bench order that had directed the CBFC to grant the film a U/A certificate. The Bench sent back the case to Single judge for fresh hearing. Producers may challenge the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court.
Hence the Censor Board has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court, asking the court not to pass any decision without hearing them first. This was done to ensure that the Board's side is heard if anyone appeals against the Madras High Court's order. Earlier, the High Court Chief Justice's bench had ordered that the case related to the censor certificate should be heard by a single judge.

There were rumours that the producers will be moving SC over the Madras High Court Division Bench order that stayed a single judge's direction to grant the film a UA certificate."

However, the makers of Jana Nayagan have decided to with the court case and go to Revising Committee. Amidst this, the buzz is that the producers have advised Overseas distributors to begin cinema theatre booking preparations, with a potential theatrical release between February 12 - 26.
