An Israeli Air Force F-35I Adir fighter jet shot down a Russian-made Iranian Yak-130 over Tehran, the Israel Defense Forces said, according to The Times of Israel. It marks the first time an F-35 has downed a manned aircraft and the Israeli Air Force's first air-to-air combat against a crewed jet in nearly 40 years. The last such incident was on November 24, 1985, when an F-15 Eagle shot down two Syrian MiG-23s over Lebanon.
